Randall Michael Tobin presents Theta Sound Studio LIVE! — A chance to see amazing artists before they become the hottest ticket in town!
TSS Live! is your ticket to hearing top artists, selected by award-winning music producer Randall Michael Tobin just for this series. For a nominal donation (all of which goes to the artists), you get admission to Theta Sound Studio’s main room to experience these artists, each performing their own set in an intimate environment.
Parking is free and you may partake in the awesome food and drink that’s available before the concert and during intermission!
Seating in the main room is limited to 23 guests. But since there are two shows by the same artist this evening, there will be 46 total seats available. And if they all get spoken for, there’s a few seats available in the control room where you can watch, listen, and see Randall Michael Tobin work his magic at the mixing console.
On Saturday, October 3rd, TSS Live! presents David Lucky performing two separate shows which will be the basis of an upcoming live album! The fabulous Maude Maggart will join David for a track or three and the evening promises to be funny, dramatic, unpredictable and certainly, unforgettable!
Check out David and Maude’s bios below, then press the RSVP link at the end of the page to reserve your seats (before they’re all gone)!

David Lucky is a singer/songwriter whose recent profile in The Huffington Post labeled him a “Hollywood Hidden Gem.” A devotee of songwriters ranging from Irving Berlin to Randy Newman, Mr. Lucky’s “sandpaper-dipped-in-honey” voice and unique blend of humor and poignancy in his songs have made him an L.A. favorite.
A self-taught pianist, David accompanies himself on the piano. “I started taking piano lessons at the age of eight. My piano teacher was a short, stern, Russian woman with an iron first but a heart of gold. Unfortunately, she passed away before my fifth lesson.” Left with no choice, David continued his piano lessons by teaching himself. “To this day, I tear up whenever I play ‘Hot Cross Buns.’ ”
With a skillfully lighthearted aptitude for exploring the human experience, he’s earned high accolades from audiences as well as one Grammy-Award winning luminary. “David Lucky is my favorite kind of artist,” says Fiona Apple. “He has a genuine, involuntary need to manifest his personality, his passion and compassion, his undying optimism and humor — and to share those manifestations in a simple endeavor…to uplift and comfort anyone who likes a little laugh in their cry.”
David has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many incredible artists including Marty Axelrod, Jon Brion, Cynthia Carle, Zach Galifianakis, Tracy Newman, Harriet Schock and many more. In 2015 David was featured on folk music icon Christine Lavin’s new live CD, “Christine Lavin and Friends,” recorded at the legendary McCabe’s in Santa Monica, now available on CDBABY and iTunes.

The chanteuse, Maude Maggart, who started her performing career in the clubs of New York and Los Angeles, has exploded into one of today’s most compelling international concert artists. She has been hailed as “bewitching” by The New York Times, “utterly enchanting” by the New York Post, “stunning” by the Los Angeles Times and “transfixing” by New York Magazine.
From the Oak Room at the Algonquin to the Cafe Caryle, Maude has enchanted audiences at the biggest Cabaret venues in New York City. She’s been a featured guest on “The Prairie Home Companion” as well as the TCM Johnny Mercer documentary, “The Dream’s On Me” executive produced by Clint Eastwood.
Recently, Maude can be seen on the television series “The American Songbook at NJPAC” airing on PBS.
Suggested donation: $10 per guest (each guest will receive the finished CD that David is recording on this night, once the album is mixed, mastered, replicated and packaged).
